Vendors I will avoid

This is probably my least favorite page, but is one I feel is necessary.  These vendors, by their poor customer service to me, have cost me money.   They do not contribute to my growth potential, but instead have been a drain to my earning ability.  These are my experiences only.  I’m hoping that it will be a short page.

Park Seed has been consistent in their order availability, almost everything is a backorder!  Just about every order I have placed with them has had at least one item on backorder, several times the complete order.  I was not notified of this when the plants I ordered were on back order  and my customers were anticipating them for Mother’s Day.  So I lost sales due to that.

The most recent bad vendor I’ve experienced is Cost Less Lighting out of Morrisville, PA.  I am entering the 4th week since I placed my order for grow lights and I still do not have them.  The most frustrating part has been getting someone to return our calls or email us to even let us know what is going on.  Finally I reached the owner, who did check into the problem and called me back.  His excuse was that his manufactor had just “blown it off”.  This has caused my bulb crops to be spindly or  stunted.  This will cost me money in sales, and I still don’t have the lights!   But don’t you know, they took their money the same day I placed my order!  Will let you know when/if I receive my lights or get my money back.  Just hoping/praying if I do receive them they are not damaged.

Finally received my lights!  And thank goodness they appear to be in good condition.  They are hooked up and the plants are soaking up the light.  Some of my paperwhites and amaryllis, however, are showing signs of light deprivation and probably won’t come out of it.

Another bad news vendor is Sports Imports Ltd. I had ordered a driveway monitor from them online and never heard a word from them. After a few weeks of hearing nothing, I tried to call them at the number on their website, to no avail of course. Since they had my credit card number I wanted to cancel my order, but have never received a response from them. I filed a complaint about them with the Better Business Bureau, so we will see how this turn out.
